An accident 5 years ago will have zero impact on you joining the scheme. Even with private insurance you don’t have to declare accidents after 5 years or points after 4. They are expunged from your record. The only exception is Alcohol related which is a minimum 10 years.
As you have clean licences and an accident which is about to be expunged, you will have zero chance of being rejected.
