I think it varies dealer to dealer. There’s no guarantee on certain manufacturers, it’s simply whether the dealership you go into has a longer term viewpoint or are focused on short term sales numbers. I’m quite lucky that most dealerships in Cornwall are used to Motability customers as the general population is rather older. That said, there are still some who would rather spend their time on private customers.
As one said to me, it’s not the value in the one car, it’s the value in all the services, maintenance and repairs for that and, if they do it right, several cars to follow. To me he’s right. As long as the manufacturer produces competitive quality cars and keep a reasonable agreement with Motability, if every interaction with a dealership is positive, why wouldn’t your first stop be there at renewal?
