Thankyou Kezo so on the motorway at 70 I’m only getting 168 miles mmmm I may be better sticking to hybrid ? Just filled up £50 gives me 500 miles but or course ev cheaper to run

Your looking at it wrong mate

Motorway cold weather 80% battery charge 170mile range, Cost to charge from 5% – 80% £3.64

Motorway mild weather 80% battery charge 220 mile range. Cost to charge from 5% -80% £3.64

    Combined city & motorway:

cold weather 80% battery charge 200 mile range. Cost to charge from 5% – 80% £3.64

mild weather 80% battery charge 280 mile range Cost to charge from 5% – 80% £3.64

    City:

Cold weather 80% battery charge 235 mile range. Cost to charge from 5% -80% £3.64

mild weather 80% battery charge 365 mile range. Cost to charge from 5% – 80% £3.64

As with petrol you get more mpg around town than you do on the motorway and less mpg in colder weather, especially with the hybrid battery. So you need to combine your range with a mixture of town and motorway driving.

The CHR hybrid does about 7.3 to 8 miles per £, with an average mpg 50-58mpg. You go our girlfriends once or twice a week (160 miles). You use 2.5 to 3 gallons of for each return visit and costs you £15 – £18. The Kia Niro will get you there and back on a 5 – 80% charge all year round. Each return visit will cost you £3,64. However I’d charge to 100% during the winter months when you visit your good lady so you can take her out and get home. 5-100% charge will cost you £4.62

Over a year your petrol costs to visit you lady £780 @58mpg. The Kia £240 @100% charge

Thats a saving of £540 each year if you only visit once a week. outside of the winter months you will have loads of miles left when you get home combimed with your local driving.

That saving is only visiting your lady friend, add to that your local weekly running, the saving will add up even more!

Its a different mindset having an EV compared to filling a tank once a month, which @MFillingham can explain better than me. Also if you slowed down a couple mph on the motorway, you would go further still 🙂
