Worth bearing in mind if you pay that on a debit card and the dealer goes under between now and your car arriving you’ll likely lose every penny as an unsecured creditor.
Given the current environment there’s zero chance I’m handing that kinda money over for what could be many months. I’ve seen 2 dealers close down relatively nearby in recent months dunno the circumstances but it’s a scary thought that there’s no protection here.
For all we know this dealer is in financial trouble which is why they’re asking everyone for a big pile of money to help balance the books
