I look on most but not all of these toy’s or luxuries as must have things only to find they don’t really add much to ones enjoyment of the car.

Everyone raves about leather seats and my last car had that and apart from it being easy to slide into and out of I thought I would not pay extra for that again other than if it just happened to come with the trim level available.

With the last car having leather plus heated seats me and the other half have come to like heated seats thought I don’t find them a must have extra but a nice to have but the other half insist on them now we have had them before.

Heated steering wheel was in my last car and has become a must have item now after being spoiled in my last car.

My current car has the heated seats and wheel but its the semi-autonomous driving aids that attracted me to the expensive trim level that makes the car so easy to drive I can drive it for hours and hours with no tiredness unlike my last car that was a nightmare.

So for me its the driving aids that are more important the toys because they help in reducing the amount of adaption I need in the car. My wife was hoping on getting a sunroof but that didn’t come in the trim level of my current car and its a luxury we can do without at over £1K extra on top of the AP.

Just to think that 20 years ago we had air con as a luxury extra and now its almost standard in all cars.
