As you have probably noticed, the Motability website does not store useful information about things that many of us need. Power tailgate, power seats etc. You have to look at manufacturer’s websites.
You’re probably also aware that nothing the size of the Alhambra – which SEAT have discontinued – is currently available on the scheme so far as I can see.
We’ve just ordered a new car (Renault Austral), after spending months looking, so I can tell you of the models I know of that have a power tailgate as standard – usually only on mid to high spec trim levels. Note that this is based on the cars we looked at, so is far from exhaustive. Our search was limited to SUVs, petrol or hybrid, 5 door, auto.
Renault Austral in Techno Esprit Alpine
Nissan Qashqai mid trim levels upwards
MG HS Trophy
Ford Kuga in most trims
Hyundai Tuscon in mid level upwards but beware model gets full facelift next year
Mazda CX-5 I forget if all versions have the power tailgate
Peugeot 5008 as optional extra only
I highly recommend checking the manufacturer’s sites and their Motability list once you have an idea what you might want.
