I’m new to rear wheel drive as well as 4 wheel drive, does it make that much difference?

Permanent 4 wheel drive, which I believe the 80x is, is the best of both worlds and will provide better traction in wetter weather and to some degree better traction in ice or snow over a Front or rear wheel drive car. That said a 2 wheel drive car fitted with all weather tyres would be better than a 4 wheel drive without these tyres. Fron’t wheel drive pulls you along and round corners and can cause understeer, where as rear wheel drive pushes you can get oversteer. Personaly I prefer all or rear wheel drive and is something that will become second nature after a day or two. Another benifit of rear wheel drive is the car can be more agile and more manouverable in tighter spaces. Taking into consideration the weight of an EV along with it 50/50 weight distribution are also advantages perhaps over a RWD petrol or diesel whith its unequal weight distribution  in snowy or icy conditions 🙂
