@gloss guy how can we tell if the dealer had been sitting on our order? makes sense with what you said As some people who have ordered in July/aug on here are saying they are still on status 047 and some end of aug/sep are already on 111.
I was about to look up the codes from 2 years ago (when I last posted them) but @kezo has beaten me to it. As kezo explains, status 047 means that the dealer doesn’t have any available build slots, so effectively the car hasn’t been ordered yet. However, as it’s on the BMW system (even though nothing is happening yet) you will eventually get it, but with a longer lead time than someone who placed the order with a dealer who had available slots (see the post a few back from Paul).
The BMW sales person that I dealt with was excellent and sent me an update every 2 weeks, even when nothing had changed. She even managed to nab a cancelled order slot from another dealership (not in their group) to speed things up (ours was a different model and spec, but the build slot was the key). We got the car in 3 months (factory order with options) when others on the forum were waiting 6 months for the same car ordered elsewhere.
