Good news – Just had confirmation that Marshalls are able to give £500 cash for an i4 on all Motability orders! They didn’t guaranted this on my August order, said if it is available at time of hand over you would get it. They are posting out fresh paperwork for me to sign including this cash back. Did order from Adam at Grimsby BMW who has looked after me well. We took his i4 35m sport on a 3 hour drive with my wife. That’s the way dealers should act with customers.
Well done! For those unable to get to a Marshall’s dealership, you may find that other dealers will match it. I got our local BMW dealer (not Marshall’s) to match the £500 offer 2 years ago because I said that it was worth me travelling to get it. There was no condition that it had to still be in place when I took delivery (that would be a bit unreasonable anyway, because you make the ordering decision based on the price and deal at the time you order). I got 15% off extras as well.
I agree with you about the test drives. I used two different BMW dealers for test drives, both in different dealer groups. One gave me a car for 3 hours and the other for a full day, both obviously unaccompanied. It’s impossible to know if a car is right for you with less than a few hours on your own with the car.
