Many thanks for posting this @kezo Very interesting On paper, this is the only car currently available on Motability that remotely interests me, although I’ve never craved a Mazda and I don’t particularly like the look of it
I’m also not sure that I’d want to sink £17-18k into leasing one when that outlay would get me something very decent privately, but I’d definitely take a look at it if it’s still on the scheme next Spring. I’ve watched a few YouTube reviews of tge CX-60 and they all refer to the ride being disappointing (both wallowy and overly firm, which is very unusual) but none referred to the seat issue, so I’m glad that you pointed that out as that’s critical for us. We agonised over whether or not to get the Sport seats on our BMW and are so glad that we did, as the extra seat length makes all the difference. Here’s hoping that the October list brings something better, but I’m not holding my breath.
Alot of the reviews were based on pre production models or early models. Since then Mazda has provided a host of TSB’s based on these reviews. Most of these are now done before it reaches the dealer such as new all round shock absorbers, soundpoofing etc, so its a different car than pre production or early models. It has Mazda’s Kinetic Posture Control technology seen in the MX5 so body roll is suprisingly limited for such a heavy lump, so I guess suspension has got to be on the fimer side but, I wouldn’t quite say its M Sport. Interstingly Koni have come out with a set of active dampers but unless Mazda made them standard fittment or optional extra its not likely a MB customer would buy them off the shelf! All that said Ive been in far worse including my fidgety Tuscon.
As I said I didn’t notice a problem with the seats but, surprised the seats didn’t have an extender given Mazda are aimining at the premium market X3 etc!
My advice is take one for a test drive but as now if nothing comes on in q4 I’ll probably leave the scheme. 🙂
