    Really sorry and thanks for the prompt it was actually finally resolved yesterday morning ?

    Result was Direct Line phoned me and then phoned local branch of Enterprise so we had a three way call. We now have a like for  like hire car which is being driven on Direct Line Motability insurance. My suspicion is that we suffered from the situation occurring in first week of change to Direct Line, once I got past the operators who were triaging calls (and I think still are!) things happened quickly BUT it took 5 days of calls to them.

    So we are happy now but good luck anyone newly claiming !!

    Did not get a promised return call from Motability escalation team (I actually had a stand off with one team member who was insisting that the hire car cannot be supplied under DLM insurance)

    Again thanks for the prompt to report back, no excuse but I was completely exhausted after a very stressful week
