Just got this from PfP, not really surpised, As per policy, the customer requires their own private driveway with dropped kerb to have an EV Charger installed and the charge point must run off the applicant’s electrical supply, which in this case would not be possible. I just replied to them, That’s really surprising given the number of councils and housing associations which are going ahead with this new system which means a dropped kerb and driveway are not required. The system is fully approved by the Highways Agency and is designed to provide the ability to charge to a much broader market. All I require is the charging unit fitted to a wall, it’s not any sort of structural alteration to the property. I’ll get in touch with my MP on Monday as this will seriously affect my ability to charge the car at an affordable cost. As I’m sure you will appreciate being a disabled pensioner I need all the financial help I can get..
This sounds good, although I would of inculded the councils reply – they could fit it for £300 and it would be deemed acceptable to them!
