I would suggest that its almost if not completely impossible for Motability to link to manufacturer availability. Many manufacturers do not even have a platform which gives real time availability, let alone access to a Managed file transfer (MFT) which gives access from other platforms to their availability.

The Motability website is very easy to use, it shows which cars are available on Motability. Its then very clear that the customer does some work to find which cars are in stock

For me it was very simple –

Look at what cars are available on Motability, taking into consideration type, fuel, advanced payment etc.

Do a bit of phoning around and in some cases simply head to the manufacturer availability website.

Once I have answers phone the specific branch and place order

We decided to go to a motability car on the Saturday, decided on an Audi A3 and found cars which were available. Went to our local franchise on the Monday, completed paperwork and picked up the car the following Saturday. One week from making the decision to picking up the car. Main work was deciding on what cars we could afford and then phoning or going online to discover availability. It really was VERY easy and VERY quick, but yes did need a little work (few hours) from ourselves.
