Thank you for providing some context.
My concern is that RSA would always give a full list of choices if car has to be off road for repairs, where Direct Line are only focussing on a credit hire arrangement. Its interesting that there are lots of examples on the Financial Ombudsman site where an insurance company has referred someone to a credit hire arrangement without explaining what it is or indeed giving the other options (where the policy includes a courtesy car). In the majority the insurance company is ordered to pay costs plus a small compensation amount.
I am going back to Direct Line this morning and will be keeping a record of what they tell me (or don’t tell me). I just want four wheels which will get me about while the car is being repaired!
Does the Motability insurance provide cover for a courtesy car? (I am happy that this would be a small car of some kind)
