To backend my previous post, my Ohme home pro charger has now been installed. As kezo correctly surmised, he didn’t go anywhere near the consumer unit inside. The mount point of the charger is only about 1m from the external meter box, so he installed a small fuse box in the meter box (he had to move my smart meter to make it fit) which goes to a small junction box (as the Ohme is a sealed unit with only a small length of cable to go to the supply), then to the charger. We had ours mounted low to cater for using from a wheelchair, which compromises using the screen a bit from standing position, but 99% of the time the app is used to control charging so no problem. He took about 3hrs to do the job, took me through the basics of the charger, how to set up the app, and cable storage. So far, the service has been excellent, which helps when you’re making such a big decision on changing how you use a car.
