Yup, mine was a ’79. Someone before me had powdercoated the frame and wheels red, tank a very metallic baby blue. Sold a knackered 250 Superdream for £200 and bought the CB900 for £550 (barely get a set of tyres for that now, last bike was £16,000!). Swapped the weird cafe racer style seat fitted for a newish one at Victor Devines (the stock seat was lower) in Glasgow and that was me. 30,000 miles on it over 2 years till I sold it to emigrate.
Likewise, my legs at 29″ have been an issue. My Tiger 1200 was on absolute tip of boots unless I shuffled to one side, kinda put me off in the end as any road camber and I was a goner.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
