Hi I do not have a opaque filter on my pic Strange Looks normal to me Was told that white box manages the amount of energy being drawn at any one time Still think the box should have been walled fixed and not simply jammed behind an earth cable ( have @ them ) Thanks all for all the great feed back and I suppose its now just a case of carry on and use the charger and wait and see if anything concerning unfolds. In any event my car will not need to be charged more than 6hrs a week and I will never have to charge over night /

Hi, if it is just jammed rather than fixed, pull it out and let me knw or post a picturer if there is a label on the back. There is enough cable coiled up to reach outside which I find strange or more to the point sloppy workmanship and indeed I have seen worse!

My previous post explaining the CT clamp is normally what is fitted to monitor the load in amps going through you house and prevents the cutout blowing from overload!

Ideally the CT should normally wired to the CT terminals on the charger (master device) however, it can be  connected  to any device with CT inputs, such as a diverter on a solar PV system, that feeds any spare energy to the home rather than feeding it back to the grid. I have never had anything to do or fitted Easee chargers although I expect box “X” is a wireless energy monitor that measures your current output from your CT clamp, in the same way Myenergi Harvi is used with Myenergi Eddie in conuction with a Zappi charger with solar PV – you do not need solar PV to use a wireless energy monitor however it is more common to see these installed if a cutomer has solar!

    I hope this helps 🙂
