Tried the Ionic5 Ultimate last Thursday and the EV6 AWD on Friday. Both excellent cars and imo both worth their £50k price tag. The Ionic5 was comfortable and both wife and daughter loved the looks and colour (Matt grey) and it has pretty much all of the bells and whistles you could want. Very comfortable ride and although a few scratchy plastic trims a very pleasant environment. Indeed it impressed so much I nearly cancelled the EV6 except that the salesman had gone to collect the car especially from another dealer.

I’m glad I didn’t cancel as I was seriously impressed by the AWD version. As with all EVs the power is immediate and smoothly delivered and I was looking forward to opening it up on the  nearby dual carriageway which has an initial 50 then national speed limit. Did about 60 miles of mixed urban and dual carriageway and averaged 4.0ml/kWh giving a range of 309 miles, pretty close to what it says on the tin. At one point I clicked on the drive mode button to “sport mode” and it just flew up the road. It felt comfortable and although not as well equipped as the I5, none the less it’s much more of a drivers car.

Really pleased with the quality of EVs on the scheme, just wondering whether to hang on until next quarter in the hope of reduced ap’s or biting the bullet and ordering now.
