I totally agree about home charging. If I didn’t have a home charger, I would seriously consider a HEV or PHEV rather than a full BEV.
If you can’t get a home charger installed, then Motability do offer some discount on the charging network ( I read that on here, I think)
I noted a new pilot scheme in Durham where they are installing a wall socket on street houses and burying the cable under the pavement to allow free access for pedestrians but allow charging.
house builders and property developers should be already planning for ev integration in flats and apartments, but they’re not, planning permissions should be approved only if EV are adequately considered.
lets face it, this government has been so lacking in forethought about EV infrastructure. When I travelled to Scotland I noticed the government ran chargeplace Scotland, was introducing more and more forecourts. In BROUGHTY FERRY
( small place) there was a forecourt of six or seven chargers. Look at the map below. The UK could have had this amount of network if the UK government pulled their finger out. Of course there are political reasons why they don’t, which I won’t go into, but it really does irk me.
