I have spoken to BMW Marshall group in 2 different areas and they have informed me the cash back (£500) is only available on 1/2 series since its only eligible for cars registered by Sept 30 and i4’s will take longer to arrive, also the discounts were not offered on options either therefore some information on here can be misleading. I am not sure how some people have managed to get these discounts as dealerships are not accepting any.
Kai – The ‘cars registered by x date’ thing is always stated on offers as it’s a standard disclaimer, but decent dealerships will always honour it beyond that date as long as you order before then. Besides, BMWs are hardly ever built on spec, 99% of the time they are factory orders, so nobody ordering a car now would get it by the end of September anyway, so the offer would be a farce, which I would be pointing out to them, as well as the fact that the advert clearly states the £500 offer applies to the i4.
As kezo says, you have to haggle. Passive enquiries will rarely pay off. Probably worth shopping around. I didn’t order my X1 from the dealer advertising the deal, but told them that if they would match it then they could have the order, which they did. I must confess that I only got 15% off the options because the dealer offered that without me asking. BigDave obviously drives a harder bargain than me getting 20% ?
So just because you haven’t been successful doesn’t mean that it’s not possible.
