I ordered on 5/5/23 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 1.5 TSI Life 5dr DSG auto petrol with boot hoist was told it would not be ready before next summer ?♀️(2024) I’ve had my Citroen grand Picasso for over 5 years now and it’s starting to show it age.I don’t think it will last until 2024. Fingers crossed we get the new car sooner.
Sorry i’ve re-read and noticed you only ordered May this year and wrongly thought it was last years, disregard everything that follows. ?
I would ask the dealer where the car is in the system as to me it seems like they may have not have ordered the car and certainly not when you ordered the car. In that respect I would phone around a few dealers to see if they have anything in stock like Kyle did above even if you have to travel to another town. The supplies issues at VW have eased a bit, still not great, but getting better while what your dealer is telling you must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Ask your dealer for a build code to see where it is in the system, it will be something like this…
Code 00 = Assigned to factory but no build week scheduled.
Code 10 = Factory ordered with a build week confirmed.
Code 20 = Factory order confirmed and build week scheduled.
Code 30 = Car built and in transit from factory.
Code 36 = Car in port awaiting export.
Code 38 = Car in port awaiting export and release for shipping.
Code 39 = Car is on a ship.
Code 40 = Car has arrived at a UK port.
Code 60 = Car has been dispatched to the dealer.
Code 70 = Car is at the dealership.
Code XX = Car has been handed over.
I would expect at least a code 10 or 20 but if its Code 00 they simply haven’t ordered the car but even a code 10 should be the least you get but even a 10 is a bit hard to take.
If they give you a 00 or 10 I would be phoning around other dealerships but you might not get the colour you want but could get the car much faster.
