97% of the worlds scientific community agree that there is adequate evidence that the current heating of the Earth is due to man made Climate change. So @Bertie is far closer to the Scientific concensus than those opposed to his views. The 8 hottest years recorded have all occurred since 2015 and in 2022 the UK recorded 40°C in several areas for the first time. The last 3 weeks of July have been the hottest ever recorded. Yes there have been times when the Earth warmed and cooled, but the difference this time is the speed at which the climate is heating up. We simply cannot afford to continue using fossil fuels as they cause climate change. You may not like that but it’s a fact and we all of us owe it to our children, grandchildren and future generations to stop using these planet destroying substances. If you dont agree please feel free to offer your alternatives. But dont resort to shooting the messenger.
I don’t think that anyone disagrees with climate change but where there is healthy debate is how best to change things. If every car in the world became EV tomorrow, we won’t have stopped change. It’s just a small part of it and it’s ignoring greater evils.
BTW, stating an opinion different to someone else and pushing back when they come on insulting us is not shooting the messenger, it’s debate.
