To be honest, with my VAPC and welfare hats on, it is probably a question better NOT being asked at the moment.
The reason being, under the strict implementation of the War Pension Scheme (WPS) policy (and I had to really dig for a copy of it a quite a few years ago), there does need to be an corresponding manual model.
Veterans UK have generally taken a fairly wide view on it, more or less substituting ‘corresponding’ with ‘closest’.
The change to an ‘automatic by default’ fleet due to electrification of the Motability scheme does raise the issue as to whether the policy (and thus the grant) will remain relevant and it will ultimately surface and be reviewed, most likely during the next quinquennial review of the War Pension Scheme.
When it does, I can see it only going one way!
Until that point, it is probably better not to ‘poke the bear’ and cause it to surface too early!
Just order your next car as you have in the past and to a certain extent let the ‘status quo’ prevail regardless of the strict policy wording.
