@mossfin Your post is incorrect in so many ways. Yes, the post headline is controversial, but it gets people attention. It is quite successful, as it is asking a question!! The obvious elephant in the room is – yes, politicians CAN and DO tell you what to do – by writing it into the statute book and making it LAW. You DO NOT have a choice, the technical compelling reasons are – IT IS THE LAW. (I’m not shouting , just getting a few key words noticed…lol..) It doesn matter WHICH party is in power, it is where the country is heading – renewable energy! Yes, that was a good result in the by-elections. they did not keep their one seat becasue of EV’s as you suggested. Not a whitewash, it’s enough to give the Tories false HOPE. It is a good thing, as they will be destroyed in the next general election.

You are obviously passionate about EVs, I was going to say a zealot but, unlike you, did not want to turn this confrontational or personal. In your hurry to respond, you failed to read my post properly and made assumptions so you could debunk my post.

I did not deny that the country is heading for renewable energy. I questioned the timing and the ability of the infrastructure to be ready within the timeframe. I further questioned your assertion that ICE cars will disappear completely overnight in 2030. Furthermore my reference to the Tory by election victory was neither an endorsement of them nor speculation on their GE chances it wasn’t even a reference to EV but a reference to the people’s power in pushing back. It concerned ULEZ and how a single issue, if strongly felt, can change things.

You have opinions but please don’t be arrogant enough to believe yours are the only correct ones
