I’m just wondering what the life expectancy of the Battery drive motors, drivetrain and brakes if it is launched at least once everyday. A lot of these EV’s have extended warranties, I guess there will be smallprint somewhere as a get out clause if its constantly thrashed…
Launch mode is essentially a fine tuned version of kickdown, egaging the engine for maximum acceleration and torque and traction systems for maximum grip. Launch control was initially intended for motorsport applications. In reality, it should stay that way!
Launch control also requires an higher degree of vehicle maintenance as seen in motorsport. In a similar way to motorsport vehicles fitted with Nitro, Where specific components might overheat, In an EV batteries and transmission must be looked after and up to temperature before engaging.
