Fire risk? You mean unlike the combustible, flammable liquid carrying ICE cars? What’s this storage so far from anything else all about? Sounds like somebody has been taking advice from the Daily Mail. There are images of EVs packed tightly in fields in China, they aren’t spontaneously combusting and taking all the surrounding cars with them.
There is a problem with having suitably qualified and experienced candidates to pull a battery apart and replace bust cells as well as the frame but that’s just some investment and a bit of thought. Once the demand exists, then the training will be invested in and the solution provided.
