I have no doubt that we are close to a seismic jump in battery technology with many very promising designs on the table. Solid state batteries have been talked about for many years with Toyotas, in particular, being promised for about ten years, if I’m not mistaken. So fingers crossed we get the battery to change the minds of those who are “not convinced”.
My personal choice if I had to choose a particular advancement would be speed of charging. Range is important to many but in my opinion if you have a battery that gives 250 miles on a charge and takes 5 minutes to re-charge, the concerns almost entirely disappear.
The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
