Just heard from the dealer again. They were originally told it would be upgraded to Sync4 but then Ford USA changed the spec back to Sync3. They’re also now aware of the FHEV/PHEV recall for cars built prior to April 20th. Personally I’m not sure if I’d be happy with that engine now, they had the exact same fault in the 1.5L petrol engine last year which resulted in thousands of Kuga’s sitting in storage unable to be delivered until they were “fixed”. So they’ve known about the issue for over 7 months and to suddenly find it in another engine over 5 months after the original recall sounds very fishy. So as it stands they’ve cancelled the order with the factory and Motability and I’m back to square one. The Ateca will be OK until it snows again when yet again it’ll parked up. The only other cars I’ve considered at this point are the Citroen C5X Aircross or the Mazda CX-5 Exclusive line, neither of which offer any real upgrade from the Ateca in terms of mpg or comfort. I may wait until Q3/4 and see if the facelift Kuga appears but no doubt it’ll be a much higher AP than iit is now.

Did Bristol Street charge you a cancellation fee, when I phoned our Bristol Street dealer they confirmed our Kuga has not even been built, our order include 2 options factory towbar and spare wheel.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
