It may be htat on 1st July trhe Tiguan may not be on the scheme. They were VERY popular, but then VW took them off the scheme, and now they are getting rid of their older models for their next upgrade.
The fact that you can pick from dealer stock suggests they are having a clearout of old models.
It is indeed a gamble waiting on the next change in vehicle availability or AP price.
I gather you do not have a driveway that can accomodate an EV for charging then?
I’ll probably go with an EV next time, the costs are much cheaper. $4 against £35 for petrol is a no brainer.
Currently my petrol car has a 300 miles range, and I dont let it get below a half tank and it costs £35 to top it up.
If I get an EV, it will cost me £4 to do the same. I wont be using external chargers, I will be lucky if its gonna be one 4 hour charge during the night per week. I only use it for short journeys.
My current car is a Peuguot 2008 with a 1.2 litre engine and like EV manufactuurers, their offiical fuel consumption is meaningless. Peuguot state the car does 47.1 mpg….which is utter garbage. Over the past 3 years it has averaged 32mpg, which is about correct for cars of that size.
I wont be getting another Peuguot 2008 anytime soon….
