Ahh 2 stroke oil, which strangely I like the smell of in the correct mixture. Must of come from my racing (motorcross) days although my last bike was a four stroke YZ426F.
I honestly think these scooter riders don’t get the fuel oil mixture right or fiddle to make it use more 2 stroke oil, which I agree is a overly pungent smell (which you don’t get from bigger bikes). They then add performance exhausts that make them all noise and no go for the sake of chasing an extra 2mph or so. A bit like the boyracers who put a large bore exhaust on a 1.1 fiesta or 900cc micra making them all noise and no go. Yes regardless where you live, you get them screaming around the streets!
I do miss my road bike though but, my health has put a stop to it…
