Totally agree about the pollution element, hence the reason to go halfway to a PHEV. Fitting solar panels and solar battery we have dramatically reduce our reliance on the grid to the point we export 50% more than we import, the energy we import 90% being off peak.
The EV charging facility is just too fragmented, unreliable and hit and miss it really need sorting out the majority of us have no confidence in the system, it needs to be reliable and affordable and not just a new accessory for the wealthy, in our area EV chargers are either very expensive the majority of the more affordable (40 pence or less) are usually offline
