The way many drive these days I don’t think we’re safe anywhere. ?
Sounds like the damage to your car is what they call a “smart repair” and I had one on my front bumper that was my fault as I hit a low down out of sight picket fence in my grandsons new house while reversing into his drive, no sorry it wasn’t my fault, it was Motability fault for not providing front parking sensors. Isn’t that the way these day’s, blame everyone else but yourself. ?
Had the car checked by a family member who’s in the insurance repair game as an ex-panel beater and now an insurance assessor who told me its a smart repair that will cost about a £100 to fix. I was due to change the car within 3 months so left it as I could live with it for that time. Turned out my new car took longer to come than was expected so had the car nearly another year and a half before it was returned.
So to me its down to whether you can live with the unsightly damage bearing in mind your car won’t renewed for a few years yet. You could just keep stum and have a smart repair on it, your not suppose to but folk do, or go through RSA to get it fixed as its not a big or expensive repair and don’t think it would reflect on you.
With my one and only nasty scratch on my car when it was returned I still got the full good condition bonus.
