Car tracking has been going on for 10 years. Nothing new there.
Indeed, a murder case was solved by this. A guy was killed by a crossbow bolt. He lived in an isolated location, and the police A-road cameras picked up a few cars in the area around the time of the killing.
The police contacted the manufacturers and got the tracking data back. A Landrover was logged 50m from the scene, at the time of the murder.
Indeed, I get an email from Peuguot every month on the health of my car, as they automatically pull data from it. Your Motability car is being tracked already.
It is not as insidious as carring a mobile phone everywhere with you, recording everything you say and recording your movements.
