@kezo I’m sorry for reviving an old thread. I do like my new TV, to be honest i have not watched it much. I am now ready set it up properly. Here is my setup: I watch most things through a 4k fire stick (external sound bar attached to tv) so my question is do i need to make any changes to the fire stick or tv to optimise the picture / sound or do i just play with the picture settings within the TV settings or is there an easy tutorial?
Hi wmc is there anything in particular your thinking of to better the picture or sound?
In the first instance I advice you stick to and try changing the basic modes and go from there.
First go into settings click Menu-settings, and then individualy choose and go into Picture and Sound modes…
Picture mode, you have the option of: Standard – Cinema day – Cinema night – Dynamic – Sport
Sound mode, you have the option of: Standard – Theatre – Music -Speach – Late night – Sports
Take your time and watch a program with each of the picture modes and see if this improve the picture better for you. Cinema day is the norm but, its what suits your viewing. There is also expert settings but were ignore that for now.
Do the same with sound modes. However depending on how your soundbar is connected, these options may do very little, as the settings would be on your sounbar. How is it connected to the TV?
Bare in mind you may have to save your selection. This option will show at the top of each of the modes. If your not sure you can always come out of settings by pressng the “menu” button on the remote and then go back into the setting (menu-settings picture or sound mode) to check your setting has applied.
There are settings in the fire stick – Color depth and format. The Depth gives an option of 8,10 or 12bit and format options are RGB or YCbCr. 8 bit and RGB are the defaults.
You can check what settings are selected and let me know if you want, but don’t change anything yet!
Get back to me when you have played with the basic settings and we can move on when necessary 🙂
