Motability, however, negotiate on the basis that they pay the dealer a chunk of pocket change to sell a car and buy the car from the manufacturer at a discounted rate when/IF the car is purchased.
As I understand it, Motability buy/pay for the cars directly from the manufacturer as a seperate enyity to the dealership. Motability pay their accredidited dealership network a “chunk of pocket change” as a handling fee to order and return the car at end of lease etc, because us as a consumer wouldn’t beable to order directly from the manufacturer.
As with a dealership the more they sell or closer to the targets, the better dicounts they get the next order period onto of basic discounts from the manufacturer. As I understand but, could be wrong this is similar to how Motability work, even though Motability sales helps towards dealership targets?
