Interesting points, although I would personally pay £15k AP for something like a BMW X5 as even with the sacrificed benefits that might still cost less than running a new one privately. However, it would then be a toss up between a new one leased through Motability, or a used current model bought privately, as the latter would cost less to run and you’d own it!
I’m no expert on EVs and I don’t like the look of the BMW iX, but it rates very highly in comparisons to other EVs whereas, for example, the Mustang Mach-E doesn’t. What Car? Go do so far as to say it’s an EV that they simply cannot recommend. The Enyaq scores highly though and, as you say, there’s at least a reasonable choice of those – at a price.
