    “as we need to pass affordability in December for our mortgage and banks won’t count the DLA as income anyway.” Don’t do what I did when applying for mortgage. I entered DLA as income and payments to Motability as outgoing. Understandably, they couldn’t use DLA as income BUT they refused to remove the Motability outgoing payments. As much as I explained that it was impossible to have an outgoing payment to Motability without being eligible for DLA (or PIP now) they wouldn’t remove it.

    Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t think about this, I just assumed the DWP stopped the payments but it does make sense. Our child benefit was due to stop within about a year for our oldest daughter so the bank discounted the income, but still insisted on counting her as a dependent for expenditure even though that would stop when the CB stopped. Its the same if you let a property, the income doesn’t fully count for 2 years but the mortgage payments are an expense from day 1.
