As they have put 2 models of the R-line back on 2wd and 4wd I wonder will this be a new model mk3 or the current model. With the waiting times for Tiguan’s well over a year the mk3 will be out soon. I was told not long ago no 4motion available on any VW no doubt it will disappear.
As others have said, it would be the current model. The new model will have different order codes (and probably higher APs).
With the previous generation Tiguan, the run out model was worth having. The R-Line back then had everything that the SEL (forerunner to the Elegance) had, plus the styling enhancements, so when the run-out R-Line Tech model was launched (which added a few grands worth of extra options on top of all of that) you were getting very good value indeed.
Unfortunately, the current generation Tiguan changed everything. The R-Line now lacks a few grands worth of kit versus the Elegance and, by the sound of it, the run-out R-Line Edition reduces that even further, rather than adding kit. Very odd. However, with the current extortionate APs prevalent across the scheme these days, the Tiguan is one of the few remaining cars with an AP that is still reasonable.
