Fully agree my Kona Ultimate EV is 18 months old and was a upfront payment of £499, how can they justify increasing by £1600 to £2099!
Because they can get away with it. The MG4 Trophy I had ordered when the Kona disappeared off the scheme was £1,999 AP which then increased to £2,399. There’s nothing else on the scheme with anywhere near a 300 mile range for that sort of AP.
Motbility would probably also point to the now £750 new car payment so, from my point of view, I’ve had £350 GCB and will shortly receive the remaining £250 to go with the £750, so £1, 350 to come off the £2,099 so in real terms a true AP cost to me of £749.
At the end of the day, I’m going to have a large increase in range at a much better miles per kWh ratio so possibly up to 1/3 saved on my charging costs over the 3 yr lease. Sometimes you just have to be pragmatic and look at the best option for you at the time. For me, the Kona was it.
