I do realise most people with van sized vehicles due to wheelchairs needing the extra space, which must be a great help and relief allowing journeys and hopefully not just for hospital appointments, hopefully allowing travel/holidays too.. With the vehicles getting smaller, APs unaffordable, could I lease a van on the scheme for the extra space and justify the AP for my personal wants.. I’m finding a XC40 boot space to small for most things I need..
If you pay the AP you can lease whatever you want (providing it is available on the scheme).
If wanting a grant to assist with the AP, then you will have to put up a very robust case as the grants are mainly based on ‘needs’ not ‘wants’.
If you are asking if you can lease a van not on the scheme the answer will probably be no. However there is nothing to stop you doing it privately if affordable to you.
