@kezo, I’m no longer vat registered, I’m basing the vat exemption on disability. I’ve read a few in here have done it.
@Jojoe You may already know this, but whilst road tax is free for disabled drivers, cars are not, unless the car has ‘substantial and permanent’ adaptations, such as hand controls. HMRC website provides full details
You are correct @Glos guy, Mrs Joe uses push pull hand controls. I really think Motability make their money from gaining vat exemption across the board, as opposed to privately buying disabled customers who can only claim vat exemption on modified cars.
