I am contemplating having a thorough chat with the dealership when I go in for test drives. MB are keen to throw them under the bud and tell me they will be happy to come to our house to do the forms etc. Having had PCP card for the last 12 years I am quite confident any salesman would from and bear this as a maximum. It’s easy to make promises for other people. I am contemplating laying my cards on the table and asking what I can do with them, rather than MB, to ease the process. For example, do they need the (ID) documents physically, or can I send them copies? If they need them physically; if I bring them in, can I take the rest of the paperwork home for the wife to fill out?
Potentially, if I’m appointed to disburse the PIP it won’t matter anyway. But if, like you say, some dealers will bend the process to make life easier, then it might make a difference.
