The satisfaction I got from appealing was that eventually I won and they had to pay me a years back money. I was lucky enough to have family who could help me financially while this was going on. If I hadn’t then following the path you describe might have been my only option.
Either way, that’s an awesome result so I’m really pleased your friend got there in the end ?.
