Mike, I don’t know anything about the LG remote, but the alternative (and genuine Hisense) one I bought cost £12, so I doubt you’ll pay much for a workaround of the Magic remote if you found you didn’t like it .
You point it at the tv give it a little flip and a mouse pointer appears on the screen. Whilst holding the remote you point to tv guide or menu point it t what yo want and click the ok button with your thumb, if the tv guide/menu is longer than the page you can use the ok button to scroll up down. Its a one hand/thumb operation without the need to press alot of buttons. Its easy once you get the hang of it as your not pressing loads of buttonss but, it can be turned off to act like a normal remote. Magic eh ??
