! I was honestly shocked with how many features it had.
I am disappointed with one aspect of the Qashqai, in that like many other manufacturers, NIssan have NOT supplied a spare wheel !
For the first time in over 50 years, and probably 20 punctures, the last one being maybe 15 years ago, when at 8 pm last evening when picking up the wife from having day surgery, on return to the car – yup, flat tyre, no spare tyre, no foot pump (my fault, not yet put in the car, pitch dark- couldn’t read the instructions for the compressor ( never used one before) – snookered!
Ah, but 200 metres away there is a BP 24 hour filling station, I’ll gently drive over there and put air in the tyre – spent a few pound coins trying to get air out of their forecourt machine- nah, broken!
Ring the RAC ( should have done straight away of course , and I will never make the that mistake again ), explain the situation – what an excellent response- they arranged a Taxi to take wife and granddaughter home 15 miles away – all paid for, whilst I stayed with the car until the RAC patrol guy turned up and repaired the puncture – really helpful guy who was so busy, but he did not rush, and ensured that this disabled driver was all set up before leaving!
Superb service from the RAC – the only downside was waiting 40 – 50 minutes for the Taxi to arrive – the wife was still in her nightclothes and not very well from her day in hospital – but the QQ e Power superb heater kept her warm, at least ,and the Mercedes Vito taxi was also warm & roomy and comfortable.
Took a note of the fuel consumption given that the engine and motor were running a lot to keep us warm , whilst the car was stationary – 46.3 average MPG for the day.
