I’ve always liked the Canon EOS 5D and the mk1v is the last model in that illustrious line, and is reasonably affordable now as it’s technology is several years old, and has been surpassed by newer mirrorless offerings. It would do a great job with a couple of suitable lenses, but my ‘tech head’ says that even Canon have finally gone mirrorless so maybe I should. I’m going to do a lot of research between now and the Spring (better weather) as there are now a plethora of “music video capable” cameras on the market. I had almost decided to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 when it comes out in September, but as my phone is still in pristine condition I’m tempted to keep it and use the money towards a quality dedicated full frame sensor camera. I’ll think more on that.
I’m less comfortable with the sound production side of music videos as I’ve previously only used either a Yamaha or Zoom portable sound recorder and left the processing to one of my son’s mates who recorded his band. My knowledge is therefore a lot less than needed.
I’m going to watch video tutorials to try and add some more expertise, lol.
I appreciate your input and would be grateful for some more advice over time.
Please don’t go using too much of your valuable time on it though, as I won’t be rushing into a quick decision. (I Hope ?)
