What car did you have before? I had a VW Golf, in a different league when considering quality, my ideal vehicle would be in the style of an electric Caddy with all the tech, not sure about the ID.Buzz, never been in one.

Best heating I have ever had was in a Seat Toledo, set it and forget it

How was the journey in terms of battery and charging? I have got to give credit where credit is due, the Charge MyHyundai app is a must for me, you pick the charger you want and if connected via Android Auto it shows up on the navigation screen and you just select it or you can set a route with different charging points you choose along the route, the app could be better but it is workable. You only have one payment method that can be used at several different charging suppliers and start the charge from the app (or supplied RFID card). I got a max of 43-47kW between 26% and 80% at a 50kW Tesco Podpoint, no problem, 50p/kWh, worked first time and took around 48mins. I did however have to ask a member of staff to place a cone in the space next to me whilst I went to the loo and got a coffee to ensure I would be able to access my car when I returned. This was the second charge point I tried, the first, at Lidl, was so tight, there was no way I could get out of the car, and having to reverse in I couldn’t even access my boot.

The charging infrastructure is a mess, especially when you require additional space for access, and I wish someone would be honest for once. The number of chargers includes all the different speed chargers, chargers you can’t use because they are for permit holders only, and private chargers for which you have to be a customer. I found some Ultra Rapids that were over £1 per kWh + parking, the average seems to be around 75p, so much for cheap motoring. Had there been a destination charger at my overnight stay, it would have made life much easier, and I think that is where the future lies, destination chargers, at more locations, in more spaces, where you can park up without time constraints and do whatever you need to do, shopping, working, public transport, and come back to a car that has been topped up, ready for the return journey.
