Not a fan of Mazda’s enthusiasm towards NA engines in it’s petrol models, don’t get me wrong the 2.2 diesel is a different bread altogether. I just find it’s all medicore with its reatively low 215ish Nm of torque – meaning it will have to get it up to 3000rpm and beyond to see any performance from it, making it hard work to drive especially with a manual. Remincent of days gone by.
PSA groups 1.2 turbo in similar sized cars will have more low down poke and will be equally as fast with near on the same 0-60 times. It would no doubt more economical to.
