We went to Nissan first and the demonstrator X Trail was broken! A good start! So we had a good look around it and really weren’t sure about. The exterior was fine but the car is very high up, which meant my partner would struggle to get in it with her back and sciatica pain. First impression of the seats wasn’t great, they felt very hard. I couldn’t find a comfortable driving position, especially with the low centre console and felt cramped. On the passenger side I couldn’t stretch my legs out underneath the dash as it was blocked. I had to have the seat position down low otherwise my head hit the roof/sunvisors with it having a sunroof. I also wasn’t keen on the position of the screen. I already knew the boot was small for the car but seeing it in the flesh just confirmed that. Also with no powered tailgate my partner would’ve struggled to shut the boot. I asked the sales guy if the Tekna trim is likely to come on to the scheme and he said no.
