Wigwam I’m the same my 12 year old Samsung 40 inch in the lounge is a gorgeous picture in freeview HD and SD and with my amazon fire stick I get all the catch up apps
Whatever you choose then will have a superior picture as most LED TV’s are backlit rather than side lit, plus there’s quantum dot and mini LED technolodgy that takes things on a whole new level and then there is oled.
Interesting fact Hisense make TV’s for Tosh got a Toshiba, sharp etc and most TV’s use a panel from the 1 or 2 that make them, LG being one.
The Hisense UH* mini LED is nice but it’s 55″ around £750
The TCL C835 flagship is said to have a better pic by a tv calibrator than the Samung flagship q90
